Original glass, Pink Paraffin globe.

Pink paraffin was sold by Shell for lamps, small heaters & stoves. It was dyed pink to differentiate it from other fuel.

During the 1920s, the paraffin heater was perceived as an elegant way to heat the house. For the first time since conventional coal fires, a heating source was portable.

Paraffin heaters remain in use today, although not tyipcally as a primary domestic heating solution.
